Studied Architecture at Edinburgh University & Glasgow’s Strathclyde University.
Registered as an Architect in 1988. Worked on newbuild and renovation housing projects with private & public sector practices in Glasgow, Haringey & Hull.
Established own practice in Northern Ireland in 1992 and has received awards from RIAI and RSUA.
Has been a member of NI. Building Regulations Advisory Committee, Historic Buildings Council & a member of the Ministerial Advisory Board NI for the Built Environment
Former Council member of RSUA & convenor of the RSUA’s Sustainability Committee.
Worked on many housing projects as an Ecohomes Assessor.
Experienced in specification of ecological building materials, most recently constructing the Hemp Cottage which was published in both Living Design & Construct Ireland.
Co-author of “Hemp Lime Construction” ( BRE Press) & "The Thermal insulation Materials for Building Applications" (ICE 2019).
Involved in research and development and retains interest in contributing to the environmental debate.
